Limocide® / Essen’ciel®: Several International Emergency Authorizations Granted in 2026

France: Three 120-Day Emergency Authorizations in Fruit Growing and Olive Production

In France, Limocide® / Essen’ciel® obtained three 120-day emergency authorizations allowing its use on several strategic crops:

• Against aphids on apple and pear trees, at 0.8% v/v with a maximum of 8 L/ha
• Against aphids on plum trees, at 0.8% v/v with a maximum of 4 L/ha
• Against olive scale insects, at 0.8% v/v with a maximum of 8 L/ha

These authorizations provide fruit growers with access to biocontrol products based on sweet orange essential oil at a time when insecticide solutions for these crops are becoming increasingly limited.

Belgium: Expansion of Outdoor Field Uses

A 120-day emergency authorization now permits the use of Limocide® in open-field conditions in Belgium across a wide range of crops.

Until now, the product had only been approved for greenhouse uses. This development now enables Belgian growers to benefit from a biocontrol solution also suited to field conditions, providing an additional alternative within integrated crop protection strategies.

Kenya: One-Year Emergency Authorization on Avocado Crops

In Kenya, a one-year emergency authorization has been granted for the protection of avocado crops against Persea mites (Oligonychus perseae), a particularly problematic pest for avocado production.

This exceptional measure aims to reduce leaf damage and yield losses in the country’s main avocado-growing regions.

Germany: A 120-Day Emergency Authorization in Viticulture

In Germany, a 120-day emergency authorization has been granted for viticulture applications.

This authorization covers a maximum volume of 16,344 litres, allowing treatment of approximately:

• 250 hectares of vine nurseries
• 20 hectares of mother vine plantations
• 500 hectares dedicated to graft propagation
• 1,500 hectares of production vineyards

The objective is to control the American grapevine leafhopper (Scaphoideus titanus), the main vector of Flavescence dorée, a particularly concerning disease for European vineyards.

Authorized uses include production vineyards, vine planting material, American grapevines, rootstock vineyards, and nursery plots intended for planting.
