Each year, climate change contributes to the spread of pests and extends their periods of activity. In this context of increasing pest pressure, combined with the gradual reduction in available chemical crop protection solutions, new approaches and crop protection practices are becoming essential. Against this backdrop, Limocide® / Essen’ciel® continues its international expansion with the granting of several emergency authorizations in 2026. These decisions reflect the growing interest in biocontrol solutions for crop protection in response to increasingly complex phytosanitary challenges.
In France, Limocide® / Essen’ciel® obtained three 120-day emergency authorizations allowing its use on several strategic crops:
These authorizations provide fruit growers with access to biocontrol products based on sweet orange essential oil at a time when insecticide solutions for these crops are becoming increasingly limited.
A 120-day emergency authorization now permits the use of Limocide® in open-field conditions in Belgium across a wide range of crops.
Until now, the product had only been approved for greenhouse uses. This development now enables Belgian growers to benefit from a biocontrol solution also suited to field conditions, providing an additional alternative within integrated crop protection strategies.
In Kenya, a one-year emergency authorization has been granted for the protection of avocado crops against Persea mites (Oligonychus perseae), a particularly problematic pest for avocado production.
This exceptional measure aims to reduce leaf damage and yield losses in the country’s main avocado-growing regions.
In Germany, a 120-day emergency authorization has been granted for viticulture applications.
This authorization covers a maximum volume of 16,344 litres, allowing treatment of approximately:
The objective is to control the American grapevine leafhopper (Scaphoideus titanus), the main vector of Flavescence dorée, a particularly concerning disease for European vineyards.
Authorized uses include production vineyards, vine planting material, American grapevines, rootstock vineyards, and nursery plots intended for planting.
These various authorizations obtained across Europe and Africa illustrate the growing role of biocontrol solutions in crop protection strategies. They also confirm the ability of Limocide® / Essen’ciel® to address a wide range of phytosanitary challenges across different crops and highly diverse agronomic contexts.
Our bio-based products aim to offer lasting crop protection against diseases and pests with a sustainable, organic profile that is an alternative to synthetic inputs.
Our adjuvants improve the effectiveness of herbicides, fungicides, insecticides and growth regulators, while limiting their environmental impact.
Our nutrition products improve the nutrient balance of plants. Biostimulants stimulate natural processes promoting the absorption and use of nutrients, the ability to withstand abiotic stress, and crop quality.
Each crop is unique and each farmer encounters different issues. Climate, diseases, nature of the soil ...
Our experts are at your disposal to help you find solutions that are 100% adapted to your crops.
